The Reservation – Rebecca Kauffman

A warm and funny depiction of ordinary
life in an upscale midwestern restaurant – it reminded me of a combination
of the Stanley Tucci film, The Big Night, and Stewart O’Nan’s Last Night at
the Lobster (with a bit of The Bear thrown in).  I really loved this book,
with its ensemble cast of interesting and quirky characters.
