The Guest – Emma Cline

This is a big change from my usual reading choices, but I have to admit I enjoyed it. Alex, the protagonist, is a young woman who you cannot like, yet root for all throughout the book, as she scams her way through fancy parties and huge mansions, connecting with entitled people, while trying to not get caught by Dom, to whom she owes money. She has nowhere to live (her roommates kicked her out) and just needs to get by until the end of the Labor Day weekend. Tense, suspenseful, and entertaining.
